Alumni and Friends
Dear Alumni and Friends:
As we enter a new school year, we also stand on the verge of a new era
for the S.J. Quinney College of Law. We began this summer by welcoming
our new dean, Hiram Chodosh, who has been tirelessly traversing the
valley since the day he arrived. He was chosen, in part, because he
has a well-developed vision for our school. Now that he has arrived,
that vision is materializing. For those of you who have not had the
opportunity to meet Dean Chodosh, you will be struck by his energy
and his unique ability to put ideas into concrete programs.
Big changes are well underway, and I believe you will be delighted
with the plans. A few weeks ago, our alumni board met to map out
our projects for this year. The energy was palpable, and the programs
we discussed will be unveiled throughout the coming year. I have
continued my association with the law school because I am a true
believer in both the school and its potential. After spending the last
few months talking with Dean Chodosh, current students and alumni,
and practicing lawyers, I am more convinced than ever that our
investments will result in tangible returns.
We have all the tools to build a remarkable legal program that not only
serves students, but also serves the greater legal community, and society
as a whole. The ability to put it into action depends on all of us. This
year, on behalf of the alumni board, I invite you to participate fully in
building our school’s future. While our collective financial contributions
play a critical role in the school's success, we also need and welcome
contributions of your time, ideas, advice, and insight, as well.
So as we reach out to you over the coming months, please consider
making a contribution to the S.J. Quinney College of Law. On behalf
of the alumni board, I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Elaina M. Maragakis '97
